close the acao border, the Journalists Mission left Macao for Chungshan District on the morning of 23rd November, and arrived in Shekki at 4 p.m. on the same day.

Although there was not much time for the Journalists Mission to make officials calls, in Shekki, yet the Journalists made a series of calls on local officials. They called on the Divisional Commander Lau Siu o of the 159th Division, and then Magistrate Cheung of the hungshan Magistracy. As the blockading of acao is quite an important matter, the journalists visited all the authoritative leaders in Puekki to ascertaining details, which are summarized as follows:-

This action taken by the local authorities is, in reality, to stop people from addiction in gambling and opium-smoking. Therefore, with effect from 24th November, no persons are allowed to enter acao, and all local products and goods are not allowed to be exported. Anyone breaking these orders will be killed at the spot (倶予格級勿論)。 This is only a precautionary measure but the term 'blockade' can be used if needed.

The Jacao authorities are not retaliating with counter-blockading measures by ordering all the people in Macao not to export goods.

During the journalists' stay in Macao, they also called on many of the leading hinese business men, who expressed their desire for the early return of Macao to Ching. Their eagerness over this question even exceeds thint of tue people in on: 其情绪之热烈比港方有過之而無不及).
